That's why they created the Solar for Low Income households program. This initiative aims to provide eligible households with a discount on the cost of installing a solar power system, potentially saving them up to $2,500.
Eligibility for the program is based on household income, with priority given to pensioners and those in need of income support. If you own your own home and your combined household income is less than or equal to the ACT Low Income Household Rebate threshold, you may be eligible to participate.

Residents of Canberra have shown strong support for the Scheme, with nearly 9,000 households participating in sustainability upgrades since its launch in July 2021.
The ACT Government has increased funding for the Sustainable Household Scheme by an additional $50 million, in an effort to support more households and community groups in their journey towards a greener and more sustainable future.
